An inflatable pfd starts at $100 and are not heavy or burdensome. I have one on every minute I'm on a boat. I am a U.S. Marine water qualified and a certified life guard, but I'm not stupid. It happens fast on the water, especially in a bass boat. Cold water will kill you in minutes. Hope they find him soon, this really sux. My wife really gets stressed when I go out alone. Couple years ago 4 adults were lost at American Falls and it started with a piss. All the pfds were stowed. If your not gonna wear it at least have it out on deck.
