The triploidy process does leave a small percentage of fish that are fertile. The big problem is there is a limited food source available in any lake and everything these monstrosities eat is taken from the native fish. It is hardly a win-win situation. How is catching a genetically modified fish that gets freakishly big better than catching something that actually lived in the waters for centuries. This is why the river systems in this country (and elsewhere) are so screwed up. Sorry, but I do tend to pontification as I age......
