Well that doesn't sound good for the service, although I have used lowrance for about 20 years and never had to send one back yet. Hopefully that doesn't change. I'm still a little foggy on the whole chirp technology. I researched hard and never found a really good and short description of why it's different. My summarization I could come up with is it constantly changes frequency, instead of staying at one. I do notice a variable click on the ducer, instead of the consistent tap tap. If there's someone out there that can give some input about chirp technology, I would be interested.
