Look up fly patterns like an egg sucking leech, muddler minnow etc. What you are proposing is that exact same idea.

My only concern for this idea is if the bead will interfere with the action of your lure. OR if the additional weight of the bead will pull your lure down into snags.

But it would be worth experimenting in my opinion.
