You're posting on here, so I assume you know the burbot bash was cancelled for this coming Saturday. They basically said, "There is plenty of "good ice" in some locations, but a tournament will bring too many idiots. They don't want to have a repeat performance, on having to pull more dead fishermen back up through enlarged ice holes. In the winter I usually think of trout (at least the small slimers) as a necessary nuisance. I love to target the perch and crappie. Not because of the fight the offer, but because they are so dang good to eat! And it is kind of like hunting antelope. You are usually seeing a bunch of them.
