The freeway trucker point view area, west side. There is a trail off of it. Be careful in that area. It always thaws early, and I think there are some warm springs, especially more to the right of the point as you walk down. It gets deep quick off the left side. We have caught some decent catfish in that area, through the ice. The crappie were in the summer, from a boat. I want to head to Pineview, way early, Saturday morning. Get there around 5 or so, and do some night fishing for a few hours before daylight. If you want crappie, they are so thick there, it creates false bottoms on the finder. If I go, it will be on the north side of Cemetery Point. So far, I can't find anyone that wants to get up that early. I live in Evanston, so that makes for early rising. I'm hoping I won't need a plank. Requires a second trip back up to the truck. If you're interested, you are more than welcome to meet me there.
