Thank goodness the season is over
#28
Fish do migrate, and there are more than a few ice fishers. I have several friends that LIVE up there and many days that lake looks like a city with the ice fishing. Yes weather can be a factor, but that is all season. Many days in the spring/summer, and fall are unfishable.
There are maps where the fish will school up during the season, that is why you see groups of fishermen instead of all over the lake.
I have seen many pictures of more ice fishers (with 5 poles) on certain days than boats (one pole unless purchase second)on open water.
The month or so that it is open for ice fishing "doesn't" make an impact, now that they quit planting more fish for it. All in the right balance.
