An opposing thought... no doubt the ski's pull easier through the snow, but the added weight of the sled, the storage problem, and the fact that I always had to load and unload it just to get it into the back of a truck, or use two people just to lift it, (too heavy for my wife to help), finally convinced me to take it apart and go back to just a jet sled. I am around equipment with casters a lot. Trying to pull a heavy object across asphalt with casters is almost an impossibility. The first small piece of pea gravel you encounter will stop the wheels from turning. Large casters with soft wheels will serve you better than those hard plastic wheels.
