[quote jacksparrow]Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

Uh, like what? Post a trip report that details the precise place to make your casts? Jack, the thing about the lower Hank is that there isn't a lot of prime holding water when the Ashton dam is running below 2000cfs. It doesn't take too much of an increase in anglers to lock down all the good holes. No, that's probably not going to happen in December but try fishing between Ashton and Fun Farm during the prime hatches and you'll see what I mean. Elbow room comes at a premium. Also, last decade, we lost two key informal access points at the Rock Runs and Seely Ranch because too many out-of-towners with no stake in the river found out about them and abused the privilege. As a result, there's no longer any convenient access between Vernon and Chester. Hot spotting really does cost the rest of us in terms of lost access and litter on the riverbanks. It already has. The lower exploded in popularity over the last 20 years. In addition to losing Seely Ranch and Rock Runs, crowded parking and rude anglers nearly cost us all boat access at Vernon and Warm River. We're lucky conservation groups stepped up and purchased access or there wouldn't be many places left to put in a boat. Just sayin, it looks like there is plenty of parking and holes to go around in the winter but you'll come to regret publicly promoting every little hole the lower Hank has to offer. Over 4000 lurkers have already seen your post. Just wondering why you didn't say "below Chester" or "between Chester and Fun Farm" and leave it at that. The only thing I can guess is you've never seen the lower with every dang parking space filled and every hole locked down by guide boats (who do NOT like to share). Float sections are so short on the lower that drift boats will camp on a spot like that for hours and wear it out, so the last thing you want to be doing is giving those guys your spots (i.e. their meal ticket) in a heavily viewed online forum. Just some friendly advice, kudos on the fish.
