So I thought you would appreciate an update on your concentrated efforts to make sure their is a F&G officer at gem lake dam when the gates are closed to put back these beautiful sturgeon that have been getting stuck in the pools. My friend came in that is in charge of taking care of the turbines. He said that fish and game promptly came by with my picture from the site and made arrangements that every time the gates are opened and shut down they will be there to remove fish from pools. My buddy then went to his crew and asked them if they had removed all game fish from the pools, the crew said yes. He then pulled out my picture of that little sturgeon and the story of at least three that they had missed and their jaws dropped. Their intentions are good but having the right people there for the job will be a benefit. F&G told my friend that they can't afford to lose one of those fish because of being stuck in those pools. So three cheers for the forum and your immediate attention and reaction to what you saw. In this case change will be of great benefit! Maybe someday you guys will be coming over here to catch these beautiful fish.
