Yeah, it's some pretty tough conditions - thunderstorm and rain on day one, then post-frontal bluebird skies for days two and three. Rough transition. It's always rough on those dudes though. Watching the weigh ins are like listening to a cd skip.
"How was your day?"
"Ugh, tough out there"
"How was your day?"
"Rough day"
"How was your day?"
"Uh, this is a tough lake"
Over and over and over. Every year.
Weights aren't too different from last year. 9 pounds a day was enough to keep you in the running, and 12 or 13 pounds a day would win it.
That's a Beast fish that Clifford got on day one though. 6.5 pound largemouth. That's got him in prime position to win, even after a less than great day 2.
I think the fish will be better adjusted to the weather change by today, so weights should come up a bit for the guys who figured the lake out by now.
Ill be watching weigh ins today from my desk. Rooting for Joe Raferty to have a stellar third day. He's sitting in 27th after day two. Great guy - taught me a lot about bassin on Mead.
