Some walleye guys like myself think that fishing at night is better for walleye all year round. (that is why they have those big eyes, so that they can hunt down prey in low-light conditions).
Anyhow - I fish them at night all year, but I sometimes camp and will fish for them during the day too... this time of year... it is very hard for me to catch walleyes in the day. I can catch a few immediately after the sun comes up, or immediately before it goes down... but during the middle of the day in the hot summer... its just plain tough.
