Well, it's been a while, but ya, I was doin' the sturgeon thing for a while a few years back. I haven't caught any BIG ones though. My biggest went about 64" I think. I've never fished the Snake River for them however. I might as well tell the story about how I got the name. haha. From the time I was about 9 until I was about 12, my dad and I went out on party boats a lot in San Pablo Bay to go for them. Well, most of the time we went out on this one particular boat, The Skip-a-lou. We went out often enough, that the capt. and deckhands all knew me pretty well. I picked up on all the how-tos about sturgeon fishing pretty quickly, and I caught a sturgeon almost every single trip we went out...kind of unheard of on the party boats. Anywho, so the Capt. and the deckhands all quickly gave me the name of Sturgeon Kid. I haven't actually fished for sturgeon since I was maybe 14 though...but I'm sure I've still got it. Har Har!! Lucky for me though, all that experience with hook-sets on the light bite of leather-lipped sturgeon, has definitely given me an edge with setting the hook on those bass!! [
