No Fireworks at Starvy 7-3-14
#28
I wish I'd spent a few minutes during my three days of trip prepping to check the BFT posts and saved myself some grief before near duplicating your day of misery for two straight days.

No blown tires, but we had the front anchor pull loose during Friday's storm when it was almost dark. Not fun trying to save the out-drive from the rocks for what seemed like an hour long micro burst wind episode. Luckily, my anchor had a ton of weeds stuck to it preventing a major butt whupping.

We too found the same issues all around the lake in the usually good spots for perch/walleye. All our favorite areas where we are typically able to coax up huge schools of newborn perch, none were to be found. We've always been able to find large quantities of crayfish at night too willing to play with the chicken legs or hot dogs, nothing this year. Something major has changed for sure.

If this is the bust cycle, it's certainly full on now. Should be some good walleye fishing later this year if there isn't the usual forage though. Sure miss those fat perch of days past.
