Looking for parts supplier of pop gear parts

Just a piece of trivia & not worth a lot. Seems to me I read somewhere - a long time ago - that a guy with the last name Geer and nickname Pop came up with the idea of stringing those big spinner blades on a steel leader & the contraption was named "Pop Geer" after him. Anybody that can add to or verify this please shoot me a PM. Don't wanna hijack this thread.
