Last weekend we headed up American Fork Canyon and took the road UP over Tibble Fork Resv. and went to Silver Lake in the flats area up there, still snow on the hill tops in patches and temp was great. there were people up there but I bet that campground up there will have spots it didnt seem used much. pretty area, the fish were planter trout from shore but my nine year old girl loved it and my wife and 15 year old GIRL loved sunbathing and wading with the dogs tossing the tennis ball a bit and just relaxing out there. it only got to about 80 degrees up there, i know you can not have a fire outside of "improved" camp sites, if you were to pull the trailer up there to the parking lot i dont know if anyone would even know you was there you can buy the three day pass when you go up the canyon for 6 bucks and find a spot to park the trailer, lots of people park trailers up there for going on the ATVs or Horses.
Just a thought... AND its close to SLC where I come from took me 45 minutes to get all the way up the hill to the roads end from Sugarhouse area.
