A cheap way of setting a bobber up for kids is to use a dink float http://www.cabelas.com/product/Dink-Floa...l+Products . These are super cheap and you can set them up to work with or without additional weight under them. I was teaching my daughter that is 15 how to use a baitcaster reel and would use the dink float wit a 1/4 ounce jig under it and she did really well this past weekend. We aslo tried with a 1/2 oz bobber weight under them and they worked just as well. We use the 5/8" x 6" with these setups. In heavier faster water i would recommend http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/T...t104336280 . They work really well too. These types can be found much cheaper than what Cabelas sells them for. The sporting godds store here in Salmon sells the parts so you can make your own for about $2.00 each.
