Riggins salmon

Why with a potential return of almost 30000 Rapid river fish would they have a
harvest quota of only 6000 or so? Telemetry has shown almost no passage from
what i have heard at whitebird this week. Maybe fish and game is panicking with
hints of a closure after tuesday. Hope the fish show up at Whitebird tomorrow
if fishing shuts off at Riggins as sign today tend to indicate.

We will be nowhere in the area of 30,000 rapid river fish. About 1/2 that is predicted.

Talking with IDFG personel, they said telemetry fish that had been below the slide made it past it early last week. They seem to think they were passing as soon as the flows dropped into the mid 40's and they made the trip in 3 days. It would seem there SHOULD be a gap based on predicted numbers and the numbers in riggans, but if the telemitry fish passed the slide one would have to think the others did also. Maybe the reason the lower river died is cuz everything for the most part is past the lower stretch.

I know wed-thur-fri there was a LOT of fish in the main river in Riggans.
