I agree with you. I am eternally grateful for those who came before us and layed out the track for us to enjoy the things we do. Often I think about "what if?" Like what if we didn't have freedom of speech or the 2nd amendment to protect it? What if my grandfather would have never put a fly rod in my hand? I can't imagin my life without the things I have. (No I'm not talking about TV and nice cars.)
Like our grandfathers and the ones before them I plan on working just as hard to do my part to preserve this life style. In a way I guess I can say "I didn't choose fishing and hunting." "It chose me." "It's in my blood."
