Idaho Salmon Fishing Etiquette
#6
The times change huntsman. I found the new generation of fishermen believe there is no ethical or moral boundary they should be held to. It's not just in fishing but in life. The old ways of being respected for doing the work to earn something doesn't exist with a lot of these new guys. Since threatening them makes you just as wrong as them, I simply chose to remember the fishing the way it was and keep my great memories intact. I won't combat fish, it's not why I fish.

For years I would spend 60 days in the fall and 30 days in the spring and summer on the Salmon. Fishing to me, means catching a fish is only a small part of the experience so . . . I gave up bank fishing for Salmon and Steelies. I won't degrade myself or the experiences of the past to be a part of what it's become. I do feel bad for those born to late to know what it was to stand on a stretch of the salmon all alone fishing for a day. The experience was breathtaking. JMHO
