Bear-- I was out by Lebaron's Point on the west side of West Mountain with my spotting scope watching the carp removal crew working the west side of Goshen Bay. Interesting. They were working some bullrush/phrag coves about by Moesida (sp?). They were wading in water that looked to be about knee deep and hauling in a lot of carp. They returned to their base on the east side and I watched the catch being conveyored up into a big goose-neck trailer. Every 10th or so fish was a white bass -- saw no other fish besides carp. They appeared to have a DWR crew nearby monitoring their catch so they could have hauled in a bunch of channels and other assorted fish and chucked them out of the nets. Anyways, made me wonder if it would be worth a trip over that way in my boat?? May be an untapped heaven for cats. Just wonderin'.
Looks like the only access to that west side is going to be by boat with all the denied vehicle access. Sad.
Someday soon I'm going over that way to check out the cattin'.
