So seeing how we are debating the braided line thing I figured I would post a picture of the setup I will be using on the little salmon. Now when I switched to braid it wasn't like I did so without thinking of the repercussions of using it there. I had to think of how to not break it off in holes. So the way I figure it as long as all of your terminal gear is on a mono leader that is directly connected to the braid with a knot and not a swivel all should be well. The weak spot in the set up is either going to be the mono or the knot. Never losing more than an inch or two or no braid at all. As long as you check your line for fraying and make sure you fix it when you find it. I honestly can't see a ton of braided line getting broke off outside a catastrophic line failure. Check the pick and let me know what you think.
