I took the kids out Saturday afternoon to Magic. Lots of water and the launch at West Magic was busy. We pulled up and parked on the side to get the boat ready. I also had to walk the kids through what we were going to do because it was their first time launching. (My second) We got the boat ready, I walked them through were I wanted them to stand on the dock, jumped in the truck to back up and here comes a sailboat backing up. It took them 45 minutes to figure out how to get the boat launched and their mast up! We were patient because we are pretty new at this stuff too.
We had a great time even though the wind came up and it was a little breezy. It will take a little while to get this fishing from a boat figured out. We drifted bait near where we have had success from the bank with no luck. We also tried several other spots. We trolled back to the boat ramp around 6:30 and my youngest saved the day by catching a nice 18" Bow. I have been reading all that I can find on the Internet about trolling as this is new to me. It was pretty exciting when she hooked up, especially when the fish came out of the water about 50' behind the boat!
To sum it all up, the fishing was slow but we had a great time. I also attached a couple pics of the boat and my daughter's fish.
