Hello, Im CLARK!
#15
Welcome Cuda

I retired out of Hill after 27 years in the Air Force. I was stationed in Lousianna prior so I feel the change of techniques and species. Willard is close but is boom or bust. I have had excellent Wiper days but have not in the last couple if years compared to the southern striipers of past. If you want those days relived then a trip to Powell may be in order. I've also had some good days with the kitties but they are eaters not monsters like the Blues or Flatheads. You can try the Muskies in Pineview (catch and release immediatly). They get large but if you want to increase the bite then Northerns at Yuba. Various species of trout are the local fare and are caught in most bodies of water. The big lakers are caught at either Bear Lake or Flaming Gorge. This past year I've taken a liking to catching burbot at the gorge. Reminds me of the southern night time cat fishing but they are a cod. I caught two this year over 31". They are good eating. Hopefully this helps. By the way I noticed a couple of Wisconsinites. I lived there in my early years. Just visited Rhinelander in January to celebrate my grandmothers 100th birthday. She still lives alone in her own house. Must be something in the water.
