Traveling Fly Box
#9
I would be down to join in on this adventure. About 3 years ago at the fly fishing expo at the salt palace there was a gentleman that came around and was soliciting fly donations from some of the tiers to make a box just like this that they were sending overseas. It was the same concept in that one angler received the box, took photos of all the flies in the box, fished with them for 3 weeks and if he lost any then he had to tie a new fly to match the one lost or as close to matching as possible. They would then send this box to a new angler in a different country. This would occur for 6-8 anglers and after the last angler's time was up then they donated the flies to their local fishing museum for display. They had a blog spot that you could log onto to look at the pictures of the fish caught and stories of the catch. I donated flies for two different boxes and thought it was a great way to get your work out there if you are a lesser know tier such as myself.
