Willard abyss
#5
[#0000FF]Sorry, can't provide any specific info on the bubblers or high spots. All I can offer is that there are little trickles coming into Willard at several places, from either small streams or springs. Not unreasonable to expect some out in the main lake.

The bottom of Willard is a lot more bumpy than most folks would realize. In addition to the trenches and humps left over from the heavy equipment when scooping out soil to build up the dikes there are some actual rock piles in a few places. Some actually protrude above the surface during this extreme low water period. Others can be anywhere from a minor mound to a big underwater plateau.

Last week we found deeper water near the north marina than we did out further. But I have not made a thorough exploration of the whole lake. Tough to do in a float tube. I know most of the inshore areas around both marinas pretty well but anything more than a long kick from the launch points is still a mystery to me.

Sorry you didn't find more fish. I might give it one more try before the ice comes off. I am an eternal optimist/masochist.
