I think this is a GREAT idea! I wanted one for ice fishing and when I looked it up, a REP from Vex said it was 
ly not built for cold weather. However, by EOY 2014 they should have a new model called the Sonar Phone 2.0 which would have ICE FISHING capabilities. So I am waiting on that.
