Band Tailed Pigeon

I was looking at the regs for hunting pigeons. there was info about a band tailed pigeon. Is that the same bird that hangs out around our barns and farms up here in Box Elder County. If not, how do I identify a band tailed pigeon from I guess what might be considered a barn pigeon for lack of a better term.
