I've not used a Marcum, only Vex. I have 3, one for my wife, one for my son and mine. The wattage used to operate a vex is much less than a marcum (8 watts for a vex). If a Marcum is anywhere in the area, it screws up everyone's sonar. Not sure how close you can have another Marcum to another and still have a "clutter" (interference) free screen. I have had 3 vex's in the same tent with a pretty clear screen. My wife and I sit about 6 feet apart in our big tent and we get very clear interference free screens. I've had two vex's a close as 4 feet with clear, interference free screens. Again, I don't know how close you can have the higher wattage output sonars and still get clear screens. Can anyone shed some light on this?
As far as camera's go, I have had a few friends with them and after using a flasher, none of them bring the camera's any more. They only see what is in front of them, and the cable tends to get in the way and tangles with the fishing line. I see everything in all directions including above and below with a flasher. Camera's are fun, but they don't begin to compare to a good flasher.
