I'm going to Cabo to learn surf fishing- any input for fishing Jan-March?

[fishin] fishing the Baja at Cabo San Lucas- having access to both the Sea of Cortez + Pacific ocean gives my bro and I a good opportunity to wet some line. We are newbies to surf fishing here and especially Jan- March. Any info on what rods, gear, methods(lure and bait), reading the water, fishing locations etc...would be mucho appreciated! We will be here for 3 months as noted. Im about to leave my home and want to bring the right gear.....help if you can, please....gracias.
