A retrieval rope with a small float is always a good thing on a spud bar! [.img]http://www.bigfishtackle.com/images/gforum/bobwink.gif[/img]
True story, we had had a "spud use" class about 5 minutes prior and he did try to have loop wrapped around his wrist, sure had a shocked look after it disappeared. I have a long rope on my old one and I have used it for 30+ years. Guess Merry Christmas to me and put a rope on the new one before it leaves the shop.
Grandpa grumbled a little, but we laughed on the way home that he would likely school his kids about securing the rope/ lanyard to themselves so they don't lose his spud like he did Poppas.
Heck, I hope they will be using mine when I am gone and remember the good times had on various lakes.
