Farewell to Warmwater
#1
I have been spending quite a bit of time out on my local trout streams. With last weeks warmer weather, I decided to drive up to Preston for a bit of late season bass fishing.

With horribly leaking waders, and a shorebound fishing partner, I decided to head to a local water that has fished well all year. The water levels have risen a few feet, and the fishing was excellent from shore.

The day ended up being a great multi species day, with three consecutive casts producing three different species, including a >24" monster of a rainbow which I sight fished with a jerkbait. On top of excellent fishing for bass and rainbows, we found quite a few healthy perch. In fact, I caught more perch on this trip than all other species combined.

We released about half of the Perch we caught but kept a few nice fish for a fry. Overall, an excellent day before all of the nasty weather set in and I guess its back to fly fishing for trout until Spring.
