dest response to why we shouldn't jerk fish off their redds I have ever seen. There is absolutely no comparison. Jerking jokes, salmon, or steelhead off their redds when the meat isn't fit for cat food, just to stroke your ego is unethical. Shooting an elk during the rut is ethical as long as it is fair chase. There are about 1 million reasons why they are different.[/quote]
Really do start to share the lists of differences and how one is so much more okay than the other? Both instances one is taking advantage of the breeding cycle to increase their odds of success . I'm not advocating pulling fish off of redds by any means. But if a person is fishing for a species when they are staging to spawn is no different than going after big game when they are herding up to rut. Yet people will accept one and not the other.
