So, my fly rod has been broken for about 4 years and I just barely got around to sending it in for replacement. It was a Redington Red Start 8'6" from my birthday about 15 years ago with a lifetime warranty (a nice gift from my brother who figured he could also use it). I broke the tip off once before and all I had to do was take it in to the store and they handed us a new one off the shelf, pretty cool.
Since they were bought out by Sage they apparently don't do that anymore so it took me a while to print out the form, write my $30 check, and get it shipped (I know, 4 years is a long time to procrastinate). Turn-around was about a week, and they sent me a 9' Voyant 4 pc. with a new case for it and added return labels for when I break it again. All in all a very pleasant return experience.
Hopefully I'll manage to get out and fly fish more now that I have a working rod again.
