I haven't had time to read through all the replies to this post: But let me say a few things.
Wyoming recently wanted to increase fees as well. The reason, is that fees were not increased for 5-6 years and the cost of everything goes up with time. It's called inflation. Gas is more expensive, vehicles are, etc. 60 years ago you could buy a new car for what? 5,000$? LESS? My point is, that as time goes on stuff gets more expensive...nobody likes it but it is a fact of life...
Anyhow long story short: Everyone and their dog whined and moaned about the fee increases in Wyoming. People were complaining that the game and fish wastes too much money and blah blah, we don't need a higher "tax".
Well... the public outcry made the legislature punt on the fee increases and the result? The Gorge is now being stocked with way less Kokeanee and you better believe that will have a big impact on the Lakers. Not to mention tons of programs cut, fish stockings cut... etc.
Bottomline is this... you get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay for fee increases then I think you should find a new hobby because its just a fact of life that fees will increase every once in awhile...
