Allot people dont care for the June Sucker as neither do I but what they dont know since the June Sucker is on the Federal Endangers species list DWR & Utah gets Federal grants from the Federal Gov to protect and maintain the June Sucker. Those Fed Grants translates to maintaining and rebuilding water systems that contribute to all the species that share that water.
So while the June sucker may be a useless fish in some people eyes take the sucker fish out of Utah and a 8 dollar increase would be peanuts the DWR would have to make to replace the Fed money.
And per your assumption on the Utah lake as of the last 2 years 6 million pounds of carp have been removed with a goal of 40 million . KSL reports, The ongoing effort is a continuation of what started two years ago to restore, clarify, and protect the lake.
On average, Bill Loy Jr. and his crew remove 3,500 carp per day.
