At first I was making up that stat but lol seriously, $8 extra per person? Utah is ranked 15th if percentage of residents fishing (not lying)...Only 387,000 people hunt or fish yet we need a 8$ increase from every1 of those? That'd be 3,096,000. We need to give the DWR over 3,000,000$ more per year for fish lol?
In 2010 it was 3.73$ per pound of fish while it was 3.02$ in2006. In the SLtrib article says its higher costs are because they are producing less fish now but but bigger and its taking more energy and feed costs. The article even says how we could get rid of the less economic fishing dwr fishing spots instead and says increased sales have made up for some of this. Yet we need to increase it by $8? Lets increase gas costs by that high of a percent while we're at it to lol.
