One big problem is that people don't seem to think anymore about the consequences of their actions. Cruising past a fisherman in a small aluminum boat is quite dangerous for the fisherman. I have had a few times where I've literally had to hang on to both sides of my boat.
Others don't know the dynamics of their wake. I had a few times where a boat came flying in at full speed, then cut off the throttle when they finally got close to me. This is often worse than flying by at full speed. The boat dives in, digs a big hole in the water, and throws a HUGE wake. Other times they would stay just UNDER plane speed (perhaps thinking they were being courteous??) until they got past me. This throws a MUCH bigger wake than if they were fully planed out!
Please keep in mind the 150 foot rule, including if you are going through the narrows. It doesn't matter what part of a lake you are in. If it is within 150, you are breaking the law and putting others in danger.
One final point to make - If you are within that 150 foot range, you are also financially liable for any damages or loss. You might think "oh, it's just a little old aluminum boat, can't cost that much". You wouldn't like the pricetag for all of the gear in my monstrous tackle bag, my expensive rods and reels that may go over if you capsize me, and then there are any medical issues if me or any of my kids are hurt.

We should propose an amendment to this law - If a boater violates the 150' rule, other boaters endangered by this should have the right to paintball the violator as they go by......... Just sayin'........
