Angler Harvest and Fisheries Management
#24
Probably not what you all wanna hear but keep in mind I was born and raised Idaho and will retire there. Tourism is a large percentage of your fishing money.
Out of staters will be visiting Idaho for those Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon and Trout. Look at the popularity to Henry's.
In my opinion, Henry's was changed dramatically through the locals wanting Ice Fishing. Not apposed to Ice fishing, but Henry's was a Blue Ribbon fishery without the regs of most. Island Park a hop skip and a jump away for those wanting the ice.

Also the popularity of the South Fork and the North Fork. These are in magazines. There are not many looking for the Perch or Cat action.

I understand as locals you want more.
And another thing to take into account, just because one chooses not to harvest that fish does not mean it survives that hook up.

I don't understand Idahos idea of limit and possession. Meaning you can go get a limit, take it home or to the ice chest, then go do it again. That is a lot of fish! But, many can it, so in that case it is a tough one.

On certain bodies of water, I think one or two fish kept can't hurt at all. I am going to start keep one here and there.
