I just ran up to Glendale Monday evening after work to screw around for an hour or two. I didn't bring my tube with me cause time was limited and I just wanted to check out the scene at Glendale since it has been years since I'd fished it. I usually head over to twin lakes this time of year to try and catch the bass in the shallows but recently have been trying to find alternate places to catch good sized bass without paying a parking fee. So mostly scouting around I spent maybe an hour fishing from the shore at Glendale working the cover to see if the bass were up yet. The only fish I caught were off the edge of the cover still in deeper water. It appeared to me they are still in pre-spawn mode but I don't know with the extreme weather swings lately I'm sure the spawn is all screwed up. Anyways I caught two nice ones including a 3 pounder (see picture below). As far as holding a float tube tournament there I think Glendale appears to be a place that could produce some decent sized bass but it is a very popular boating lake for the area. Even being there on a Monday night there were a couple boaters out there skiing and what not. For that reason I think it would be difficult for a float tourny.
