Most of you know me on here. I have met a few of you over the years, and have even fished with some of you. That said most of you know I fish alone most of the time. My son used to fish with me but a 19 year old trying to go to school, date girls, and make money leaves little time for hunting and fishing. SO I fish alone and I like it. Most of my friends like to fish a couple times a year. Where am I going with this? Well I like to fish by my self because I can go where I want, do what I want, how long I want, and I don't have to worry about getting home on his time. Since I don't have a ton of friends that are interested in fishing, the only guys I got to tell about my trip to, is you guys.
When I tell a story I normally don't hot spot but it happens, not a lot of places to fish for Walleye. But most places I go is sugar cube creek, or spider beach. I have told a lot of fishing stories over the years. Most of the time,I hope to take you all along with me in the story. Am I bragging ? Sometimes. But when you join a site like this your with other people that for the most part have at least some of the same interests as you do. Also you start to be "internet" friends.
A couple years ago I did a float trip from Swan Falls to Marsing in my inflatable boat. It was an adventure for my son and I . I wrote the story and I told about all the fun we had along the way. Was it bragging a little but what I wanted the most was to share a fun time that we had.
I share videos of sturgeon fishing a lot. Is that bragging? Ya you got me there. I don't know of many other people that have done it. But until I did it many people thought it was impossible. But I got to also say it is not all bragging, a lot of it is documenting the effort.
I have helped a lot of guys over the years and I hope that I made a difference. No I don't give locations, or lures, or bait used on public forum. I Have also met people on the water, or took them to help them out. I don't give out all my secrets but I give out enough to help a guy on the path.
I also don't want to forget the guys that have helped me, but I will forget some. Smartweed, He has helped me a ton. I don't know if I would have had the guts for my big float trip if it were not for him. I know if I have a river question he is the man.
Averyadventure, Rod helped me so much I owe him a lot. One time I went fishing and I didn't have anyone to tell where I was going. I like to tell my wife a name of a person to get a hold of if I am missing. Rod was my go to guy once if a problem occurred. It gave my wife some comfort that someone knew where I was. Tubedude, on the Utah and inflatable forum is the guy I owe the most to. He got me going in the right direction with catfish in a float tube.
A lot of other guys have answered questions for me and to all of them I thanked them before and I will again Thank You.
In this thread it was said people need to find out things for them self's. I agree to some degree,a disagree on others. Some guys live 4 or even 6 hours away from fishing spots. We need all the help we can get. Mudsucker, lives in the Salmon area. He wants to catch catfish so bad he can taste it. He needs to have a place to get that info, and this place is it. If you were going to salmon to fish he could help back.
About people learning for them self's. I agree when you learn a trick that helps you out you might keep it.
I have learned a lot of little things about catfishing, Sturgeon fishing, and Walleye fishing that money can't buy.
The open forum is not always the best place to give all the info. If you look sometimes a thread is hit over 2000 times and not all of them are registered. So for most sensitive info I use PM's. Everyone I have ever asked help from has been great. I have helped a lot of guys, even guys on the Utah forum, I know I am sorry [:/]. I understand that some might disagree with me but I like the way this board runs. I concider a lot of you guys my friends. Ron
