floating the southfork HELP?
#3
With the hgher flows on the South Fork will make the trip from Twin Bridges to Lorenzo can be a unenjoyable float.

A number of the channels were narrow and had tress and limbs overhanging the water. With the higher flows there won't be time to go to a Plan B. Need to check the channel out prior to flooating it.

There will be alot of floating debris which can also block channels off to floating and making for a miserable floatalso.

The boat ramp on the eastside of the river at Lorenzo is not good for boat take out . Toons will be somewhat less of a problem. I would check it out before starting.

If you have never floated this stretch before I would recommend highly not doing it. The flow this high not toon friendly water. The water is cold so if you do get dumped you better have the gear to get dry.

This stretch is a great late July through Sept float. Way better for toons. This stretch eats boats every year.

Float it at your own risk.
