Like others have said look at what you want to tie and try youtube tutorials. Soon you will have the materials for other flies. Go smaller rather than larger for buggers and leeches on still water. I go with size 8 75 percent of the time.

You can get away with cheaper hackles you just won't get as many small flies out of them.
