Almost all of the lake and river fishing in and around Yellowstone is closed until Memorial day because of the spawn... particularly the cutthroats and other trout. Some areas are open though out side of the park such as Hebgen and Quake lakes but you have to buy a Montana License. And they close it an keep it closed because they are trying to conserve native populations particularly in the park.
