If you plan to fish in Montana, you will be near the Madison and the Gallatin Rivers. The Gallatin is open all year but only one section of the Madison is open now below Hebgen Lake. All the rivers in Yellowstone are now closed until late May. Stop at Blue Ribbon in West Yellowstone for the best info. They are located on the North end of town on the right side of the road heading toward Bozeman. If you want to drive 30 minutes back into Idaho you can fish the Henrys Lake outlet and the Henrys Fork with the exception of the stretch running through Harriman State Park (the Railroad Ranch).
