Shameless promotion! Mine get dirty, so I rinse them. If I'm not fishing daily, I dry them too. I'm a big Orvis fan, as they have taken very good care of me for a very long time[
], but no fly line is maintenance free. Those new textured Hydros 3D lines they have are the BOMB for salt water or chucking streamers. Kinda like sharkskin, but quieter and less abrasive. They just sail a good double-haul. I got a Hydros DT-4 Trout Line to fish this upcoming season. Those are promoted as having the Wonderline coating though, so not sure what the real change is besides the little line ID.
