Click on the state you want, then use the calendar to find a day when the clouds aren't covering the area you want.
I usually use the false color image as it shows ice as blue or greenish blue. If you zoom your view in on the image, you can pick out better detail.
Handy for seeing when most of the ice is off of some of the mountain areas also for hiking etc.
