A lot of people do that. Tie off the bend. I prefer the Provo River Bounce. I like the flies tied on separately instead of one tied off the other, but both can work.
As a joke, I made a fly box for a close friend that fished the Green quite often. I called the box the MICRO box. It was filled with 26 to 32's. One day, no one in his group could BUY a fish. He remembered the Micro box and proceeded to use them. He was the only one that caught fish that day.
No moral to this story other than have a bunch of different sizes.[
