I stopped at Bowman a year or two ago on a trip back from Utah. The wife wanted to check out Overton, so we drove through and found the lake. I had all my bass fishing gear on me from the Utah trip, so I tossed a lipless crankbait out and nailed a little 13" bass on my second cast. It was really nice out there, yes, kinda trashed, but nice. There were a couple other fishermen there as well that had come in on ATV. I was able to drive my jeep right up to the lake, no restricted access.
Unfortunate that it got that bad. We only stayed for 20 minutes or so and went on our way.
