No. I don't work for the UDWR. Nor am I in their back pocket. I just find it laughable that armchair biologists think they know better than the biologists who are paid to manage our fisheries. You don't work with fish 8 hours a day, five days a week and then go fishing on your weekend. Most of the guys who work for the DWR do just that.

Just because you didn't like the inlet being opened to fishing makes it bad? Right? I don't like the idea of snagging either. What you find thrilling and what someone else finds thrilling is two different things. I wouldn't bother with the inlet, but lots of folks have. I don't bother with Walleyes much at all anymore. They are almost as much fun to catch as a 15 inch Bear Lake Cutt. The last one was at Willard a few years ago. A friend had bought some worm harnesses and bottom bouncers, and didn't know how to use them. I agreed to go with him to show him how to do it. Less than 5 minutes after I put it in the water I caught a 20 inch Walleye. Big whoop.

I guess we ought to close all of the waters during the Walleye spawn. Might as well have nuttin' but hammer handles. When there are too many Walleyes that's what ya get.
